Now that the seasons have changed, it is time to make some changes to our beauty and fashion routines. A change in the seasons is always a great opportunity to try something new, and during these difficult times, it is a great idea to focus on self-care and natural beauty.
If you won’t be wearing much makeup around the house during autumn and winter anyway, we want to share with you some easy tips and tricks to enhance your natural beauty and use homemade remedies to keep you healthy and confident in your own skin.
Use heatless hairstyles
Our hair is a huge feature that should be exploited during the cold seasons because now that the weather is cooler, you won’t feel the need to throw your hair up into a bun to stay cool! Styling your hair might seem like a huge task, and it’s true that some hairstyles take a lot of time to achieve – however there are plenty that don’t and that won’t damage the hair with heat!
- Heatless waves – braid the hair when still wet and leave for a few hours or overnight and then take them out
- Heatless curls – wrap damp hair around the belt of a dressing gown and leave to dry for a few hours or overnight and take out
- Blowout ends – before bed, wrap your hair into a coil bun at the top of your head and secure for the night. Wake up with beautiful hair that has a gentle curl at the end
Try natural teeth whitening
If you want to take control of your teeth and avoid having to visit Ten Dental for treatment- it is time to try out some home remedies. For easy teeth whitening all you need is a strawberry, baking soda and water. Mash into a paste and brush your teeth with it for a few minutes every day. After a week your teeth should be brighter and whiter than they ever were before. Alternatively you can rub the inside of a banana peel against your teeth!
Create your own hair oil
In winter especially, our hair can take a bit of a beating from the harsh weather and as a result, may become dry and brittle. This is why it is important for you to create a hair oil treatment that you can use once a week. Hair oil can be made with equal parts of avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil and argan oil. Massage into the hair and scalp and leave for a few hours before washing. Do this once a week for supple and soft hair.
Try a natural acne cure
If you have been suffering lately from a few breakouts, there are some very easy remedies to use at home. A mixture of honey and turmeric is the ideal treatment when applied directly to the blemish with a q tip. Leave for an hour and then rinse off. The turmeric will reduce swelling and the honey will help to kill the bacteria causing the infection.
