Consistent Relaxation: Guided Imagery, Electronics And Sleep Support

June 16, 2020June 16, 2020 Editor Comments Off on Consistent Relaxation: Guided Imagery, Electronics And Sleep Support

Mental health is a subject that society is finally manning-up to tackle head-on. We’re talking about what makes us feel sad, angry, and happy, more than ever before.

Total strangers are having frank and open conversations about what it means to be human in the modern world. For many of us, we simply don’t get the chance to enjoy life or look within ourselves. Mainly because we have such a busy work schedule. Our lifestyle is, get up, go to work, come home, sleep, rinse and repeat.

So, is it any wonder we feel like we can’t relax consistently? It’s almost as if our body and mind just totally forgot how.

Guided imagery

Experts say that we should picture ourselves in a more relaxing place, to doze off. Daydreaming about things that make your heart beat slower, will help your mind to essentially travel to that place. Think about laying on a beach, there’s nobody around but you. The waves make consistent splashing noises, there are no waves, the water never reaches your toes and the only other noise you hear is the gentle breeze flying through the palm trees behind you.

When we think of something like this, it sends a signal to our brain that it’s time to slow down and shut off. We’re telling our brain to stop running a mile a minute, we’re subtle forcing it to send us to sleep.

Turn off the electronics

Perhaps this modern life isn’t designed to help us relax? Even electronics that seem like they would help, don’t. Firstly, when you get home and you want to relax, don’t turn on the TV, the radio or ask Alexa to play a song. Ignore all electronics and just go back to basics. Let some fresh air into the home by opening the windows, or go side outside in the garden. Read a book but do it the old fashioned way.

Even readers like Kindle and books on your phone will have some kind of effect on your eyes due to the blue light from the screen. It forces your eyes to widen and stay tense, so get a hardback book instead. Or just listen to the bird song for an hour or two.

Relax your anxiety

Something could have happened to you during the day that made you feel angry or annoyed. Even if it occurred in the morning, it’s probably still on your mind once you return home. If you find that you have anxiety that never ceases to go away, taking a sleep remedy supplement when it’s time to go to bed will help you nod off.

If you want something more mellow, try the Broad Spectrum product. If you want something actively for sleeping, the Sleep Support product will soothe your anxiety and allow your mind to relax. CBD is known to combat stress and anxiety, naturally.

Break the cycle of modern work life and look after yourself more often. Put down or shut off any electronics and rely on the basic things to soothe your tension, after work.
