In our lives, one of the main aims is for better health and to make sure we are able to live a long and happy life, doing what we love. However, in everyday life, this can become somewhat lost in translation and sometimes we can struggle to stick to a healthy style of life.
If you feel as if you could be living your life in a better way and with better habits, here are some of the things you can think of changing.
1. Be positive
Positivity is the key to life and happiness. If you go through life with a glass half empty mentality you will never be truly as happy as you should be. When it comes down to it, life should be enjoyed and every second of our lives should be filled with happiness and people we love. Instead of stressing out over the little things in your day, try to start seeing the good in life and see the positive in life. It will give you a better outlook on life and this will make you much happier as a result.
2. Plan your days
At the start of every single day, get out of bed, pour yourself a cup of tea or coffee and get your notepad out. If you have things you want to achieve during the day, it is best for you to write these things down first thing in the morning and you can spend the day completing your tasks and ticking them off your to do list. Creating a list might sometimes seem like a waste of time however it can be a great way to ensure that you are able to get everything done during the day and that you don’t forget something important.
3. Stomp out bad habits
There are many bad habits we can pick up during our lifetimes which seem to become normal parts of our everyday life. Things such as drinking, smoking and eating takeaways every week can be bad for out health and they can shorten our lifespan in the long term too. Think about trying to stomp out your bad habits in order to create better ones. Challenge yourself to cut down on your drinks on a night out for a while, you can order Champix online to help curb smoking temptation, and make sure you prep meals to stop you from buying takeaways. Ridding yourself of bad habits can make a huge difference to your life and your health.
4. Work hard, play hard
There is a key to balancing your life as an adult and that has a lot to do with working hard and playing hard at the same time. Your career of course is an important part of life, however your personal life is much more important than work. Don’t spend your whole life working, however make sure that the job you do is something you enjoy. Balancing you work and life seamlessly is as close as you can get to ideal adulthood.
5. Stay connected
Once we leave school and enter the world of adulthood it can be far too easy to drift away from our friends and our family too. The first years of adulthood are all about trying to get a job, find independence and discover your place in the world. When you suddenly have a lot of different responsibilities it can be far too easy to get carried away and not see your friends and family as often. However, staying connected with the people you love is crucial for a happy life so make sure you make time out of your schedule to do this.
6. Spend time with family

Family without a doubt is the most important aspect of life and it should be something we look forward to at the end of each day. Our family and loved ones are the heart and soul of our life and we often rush around so much in life that we barely get the chance to have a conversation with them during the week. Try to make an effort this week to have sit down family meals where you all catch up with each other and ask about your days, and spend some quality time at the weekend going out for family days and having fun lazy days in the house. You will feel happier and more youthful as a result of doing this.
7. Get moving
Don’t underestimate the power of exercise in your day to day life. It can be so tempting after a long day to plant yourself on the sofa with a glass of wine and your favourite box set, but in terms of health this isn’t the best thing for your life. Think about giving yourself time out of each day to go for a walk, practise some stretches or do a workout in your living room. You don’t need a gym membership to get fit!
8. Eat well, feel well
Eating well during your lifetime is a massive part of being healthy and allowing yourself to live life to the fullest. Make sure that you take the time to start cooking healthier meals and think about cooking big batches of meals for the week to keep you on track with your goals. Remember that a good diet is all about moderation so never worry too much about treating yourself now and again. Eat what you love, be balanced and you will be healthy for your whole life.
9. Drink water… lots of water

Water is so important for the function of our body and it is something that you really can not afford to take for granted during your lifetime. Be sure that you drink enough water throughout the day because it will give your body so many benefits. Water makes up a large portion of our bodies so you need to make sure you drink enough to keep the cells healthy. You will benefit your skin and look more youthful, and you will also be able to flush toxins out of the body to keep you healthy.
10. Rest and refresh
Resting once in a while is something which is amazing not only for your body but also for your mind. Mental and physical health go hand in hand and you need to be sure to treat your mental health in the same way as your physical health. This means that you should always take time to rest after a stressful week and take time off work entirely every so often. If you always have a break to look forward to you will be much happier and you will also be healthier.
