We tend to think of anxiety as something negative. But without it, we’d be indifferent to potentially life-threatening or dangerous situations. In the workplace, a little anxiety can be helpful. It demonstrates that we understand how others might be feeling and says something about our own resilience and emotional security. But, display too much anxiety and we’re regarded as vulnerable and over-sensitive: too little and we’re thick-skinned and insensitive.
