What exactly is success?
Ask anyone what success means to them and you’ll get a different answer every time.
At its most basic, success is that feeling of achievement that comes with accomplishing some goal, no matter how modest.
Whether it’s baking a cake, passing an exam, getting that job, or finishing a marathon, it quickly becomes clear that success is (a) very personal and (b) changeable.
“Sometimes it is the people no one can imagine anything of who do the things no one can imagine.” Alan Turing
We all are!
Well, your idea of success may be different to mine and that’s partly what makes any discussion of success so slippery.
But you don’t have to look far to see people who excel in one aspect of life, but not in others.
So, in my view at least, real success is about establishing some way to tap into all the things that will make us feel happy and fulfilled.
Success isn’t a given. We aren’t born with a success gene and even those people handed every opportunity in life don’t necessarily make anything of it.
At one crucial level, success is a state of mind. Being motivated to succeed is vital. Without this, nothing happens.
The Success Fundamentals Course
The course is made up of a number of lessons, each of which is a course in its own right:
Lesson 1: Foundation
We begin the course by outlining 10 key foundations of success.
As you progress through the lesson you’ll be invited to undertake an exercise in each of the 10 foundations.
As the course progresses, you’ll revisit these key issues in greater depth.
Every journey begins with a single step. This is that journey!
2: Getting organised
The getting organised lesson is about the nuts and bolts that underpin any successful venture.
It’s about planning, preparation, learning when to switch on, and off!
Prioritizing, de-cluttering, setting out the day and looking out for yourself are just a few of the topics.
The lesson is supported by audio clips and video’s, links to useful sites offering free resources and a variety of tools and tips to keep you going.
3: Flow state
In this short report about the Flow State, we start by defining what flow is. Next, we discuss in great detail what it takes to get into the flow on demand, along with various tips and exercises you can try to help you reach this very particular mental state.
Then we go over various different ways that help you stay in the flow.
4: Time management
There’s the full eBook for you to download of course, plus a series of short audio clips to listen to and/or download, if that’s your preference.
5: Be heard
It is a very natural reaction to become nervous before a presentation. This is basically because it is very unnatural to put yourself in the vulnerable position of standing before a large group of people who will judge you and what you say (which is really an extension of you, isn’t it?)
6: Behavior based goals
‘Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound.’
This lesson is a video presentation, supported by an audio ebook. Choose which you like or use both.
Oh, and there’s some bonus posters for you to download and use – should you wish.
7: Your inner circle
The people alongside you can feed or suffocate your ambitions and enthusiasm.
Learn why we are social animals. What’s the meaning of an ‘inner circle’ and what are the pitfalls?
What should an effective inner circle bring to you, and how do you go about establishing one?
What are the characteristics of true friendships that feed into inner circle power?
